Mustang owners sue Ford, claiming 2016 Shelby GT350 overheats, loses power



The disgruntled Shelby GT350 Mustang owners continue Ford Motor Co. in Federal Court to $228 million, claiming that the automaker sold of performance cars modelyear 2016 which overheat and lose power on the track.







The prosecution argues that the affected Shelby Mustangs have transmissions defective and rear differentials that can overheat in as little as 15 minutes. The lawsuit claims that Ford solved the problem in 2017 vehicles, but it says owners do patches on the cars of 2016 themselves, that they claim is a breach of the warranty of the car.

The trial of 71 pages seeking class-action status filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Miami. Hagens Berman, a firm famous for filing class actions against large companies, is responsible for the case.

" When Ford marketed and sold the Shelby GT350 Mustangs, he knew exactly how to appeal to lovers of track: she marketed performance in an iconic vehicle limited edition that has been associated with racing for generations, "Steve Berman, managing partner of Hagens Berman, said in a statement." 

" We believe that induced Ford buyers with its marketing "track-ready", when in fact, he knew that this defect would ultimately these Mustangs to be never paid for consumers-hotrod.

So far, the trial has four named plaintiffs and estimated that about 4 000 owners are concerned. It is said that the cars are valued at about $57 000 each for damages could reach $228 million.

Ford said Thursday morning that he had not yet been issued.

"Ford is committed to providing our customers with high-end vehicles," Ford spokesman said in a statement. "However, we do not comment on pending."

Shelby GT350 Mustang went on sale near the end of 2015 and the more powerful atmospheric features Ford engine ever made. The 5.2-liter V-8 flat-plane crankshaft gets 526 hp and Ford more high speed eight cylinders, cut out back to 8 250 RPM.
